Despite the rather unseasonable threat of sleet and snow, an intrepid band of walkers joined Liveryman Helen Short and Freeman Martin Keys at the end of April for a jaunt around the Itchen Valley.
From Chitty Chitty Bang Bang to V1 engines, it’s all here and enthusiasts and casual visitors alike found plenty to keep themselves entertained.
The weather in early September may not have been kind - rain unfortunately prevented us from enjoying the full extent of the Downing College gardens - but the warmth of feeling among Spectacle Makers gathered in Cambridge certainly made up for it.
Spectacle Makers and their families enjoyed a great tour of the City on their Great Fire Walk.
The Master and Charity Trustee Natalie Briggs presented a cheque for £2,800 to Alan Roughan, Master Hackney Carriage Driver, on behalf of the Company and the Worshipful Company of Spectacle Makers’ Charity.
